Goal​

Plan required lighting outlets and switches for a dwelling unit layout.

Inputs you must know before you start​

  • Room list, dimensions, and egress paths.
  • Door swings and circulation routes.
  • Fixture types and installation constraints.

The path (in order)​

  1. Identify required rooms and areas for lighting outlets.
  2. Place required lighting outlets by room and corridor.
  3. Assign switch locations for required control points.
  4. Verify switch accessibility and conductor requirements.
  5. Document the plan for inspection review.
